Quincieu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rene Luis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Albert Raud hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Sylvain Jeanroy took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Gabriel Fayet to make any attempt to save it. Rene Luis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Joaquim Dorival tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rene Luis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Rene Luis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Dorival was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Joaquim Dorival made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Luis in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Châteaurenard booed when Quincieu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donovan Henno didn't get a good kick on the ball.
