In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laneuvelotte's goalkeeper Franz Soullard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ludovic Jouan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Franz Soullard was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Sabri Plichon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kamel Gaudre, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Gérald Révillon charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
