After 28 minutes of play, Douard's Léo Maunier made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thibaut Goyon was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Tour booed when Douard was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. François Gérard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bruno Blachere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Douard's Bruno Blachere sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thibaut Goyon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ludovic Menoret came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Tour fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludovic Menoret couldn't finish the play.
In the 56th minute, Léo Maunier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bruno Blachere could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Thibaut Goyon made a huge save. The Douard supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Douard would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
