In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grigny's goalkeeper Romain Lachaume, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 21st minute Baptiste Campos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Ravenel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romain Lachaume showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florentin Val, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Bixente Tourret received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Romain Lachaume tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alain Dupret in the 39th minute of play forced Grigny's goalkeeper Romain Lachaume to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bixente Tourret got free with Romain Lachaume in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alain Dupret struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Romain Lachaume didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rouvignies. 48 minutes into the match, Grigny's goalkeeper Romain Lachaume had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bixente Tourret. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

But to his dismay, Bixente Tourret quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Roman Verhille fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rouvignies's protests and gave Roman Verhille a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st match minute, Rouvignies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roman Verhille to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute, Alain Dupret got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Flavien Moisy could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Brandon Ravenel however easily saved by the left post. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grigny's goalkeeper Romain Lachaume, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flavien Moisy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute, Jérôme Roulot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute of the match Alfred Routier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Romain Lachaume showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Romain Lachaume showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alain Dupret, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Bixente Tourret fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romain Lachaume having to interfere.
