When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tony Massardier made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bixente Guillermet in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laurent Baudy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Anzin booed when Kerivot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerald Coumes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute, Paul Betton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anzin's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
