Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Mainville's Gaël Bacot started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Francis Motard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Alfred Giraudo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geoffrey Faure struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Alfred Giraudo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malhivert. The supporters of Malhivert booed when Mainville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurice Loreau didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Malhivert's zone, Gaël Bacot stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Lavaud came out of the goal and Gaël Bacot tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 20 minutes into the match, Gaël Bacot notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Malhivert's Samuel Lavaud. Samuel Lavaud was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Geoffrey Faure got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 28 minutes, Stéphane Chanson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mainville and the Malhivert players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stéphane Chanson hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Gaël Bacot had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Lavaud. Malhivert's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaël Bacot was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 44 minutes, Djibril Bayer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malhivert and the Mainville players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Malhivert getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Djibril Bayer hit a great ball. Samuel Lavaud made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Kerloch in the 46th minute of play. Geoffrey Faure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Geoffrey Faure managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malhivert's supporters rose to their feet, but Geoffrey Faure was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfred Giraudo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfred Giraudo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francis Motard went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Samuel Lavaud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaël Bacot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th match minute, Malhivert was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reynald Marcel to maneuver through the defense. If Diego Kerloch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Malhivert getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Donatien Cazes hit a great ball. Malhivert's Samuel Lavaud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Malhivert from getting a goal against them. 2-2 became the score in the 70th minute when Geoffrey Faure elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Geoffrey Faure might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alfred Giraudo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geoffrey Faure ran back to his position shaking his head. Francis Motard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Giraudo having to interfere. Alfred Giraudo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 95 played minutes Mainville got a freekick which was hit by Maurice Loreau. Alfred Giraudo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geoffrey Faure in the 96th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Geoffrey Faure cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-2. Alfred Giraudo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mainville players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Malhivert.
