If Abdel Saout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Mario Schwaller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th match minute, Capinghem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Grimaud to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute Ahmid Poizat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Airault saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Montières's goalkeeper Christophe Fuss had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abdel Saout. Montières's Christophe Fuss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Schwaller in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frederic Pellegrino was the one to do the kick off. Thomas Airault made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmid Poizat in the 57th minute. In the 62nd minute, Abdel Saout got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Abdel Saout came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Capinghem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdel Saout couldn't finish the play.
