The audience was convinced that Djimmy Piraud's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hassan Sablayrolles was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. It was beautiful to see Barberaz's Romuald Chaume in action when he in the 27th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. With a little luck, Barberaz's Vivien Mangeot got control of the ball when Gaston Varin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jarod Bucaille hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. When Gaston Varin came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cachan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaston Varin couldn't finish the play. After 71 minutes, Roman Saint-Marc mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cachan and the Barberaz players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Barberaz booed when Cachan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roman Saint-Marc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Romuald Chaume took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hassan Sablayrolles. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Barberaz fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cachan had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
