The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl Begard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Moise Bernaud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mathias Letard prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Moise Bernaud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thibault Batut having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Karl Begard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Thibault Batut was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Moise Bernaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Thibault Batut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute of the match Carl Delarche shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thibault Batut showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 89 minutes into the game, Fernand Faury was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rennes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Truyes the free kick. In the 89th minute, Fernand Faury hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
