Mehdi Le Brun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charly Taton in the 11th minute of play. Gilbert Goupy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Léon Mériau having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Charly Taton in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mehdi Le Brun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 24th minute of the match Jimmy Dechamps sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mehdi Le Brun skillfully saved the ball. Gilbert Goupy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Léon Mériau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Armand Charreton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Gagneraie's goal looked a bit too open when Charly Taton came free, but Mehdi Le Brun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jean Chênel during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rezé booed when Gagneraie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean Chênel didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Léon Mériau managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when Gagneraie's Gilbert Goupy fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 48 minutes into the match, Rezé's goalkeeper Léon Mériau had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gilbert Goupy. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Louison Ménoret to make the kick off. With a little luck, Gagneraie's Mehdi Le Brun got control of the ball when Charly Taton tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 55 minutes, Louison Ménoret managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rezé's supporters crossed their fingers, but Louison Ménoret was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gagneraie's goalkeeper Mehdi Le Brun, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Louison Ménoret's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehdi Le Brun read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. In the 69th minute, Armand Charreton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Louison Ménoret came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Rezé fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Louison Ménoret couldn't finish the play. Cheikh Laffon kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Mehdi Le Brun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Louison Ménoret, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the match, Gagneraie's goal looked a bit too open when Louison Ménoret came free, but Mehdi Le Brun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gagneraie's Mehdi Le Brun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Gagneraie from getting a goal against them.
