Montberon's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre-Henri Braconnier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edgard Perron, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Pierre-Henri Braconnier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Perron made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Alphonse Pailler sent off a good shot on target. Alex Perreau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pierre-Henri Braconnier's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Montberon's goal looked a bit too open when Éthan Martial came free, but Edgard Perron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Éthan Martial in the 41st minute of play forced Montberon's goalkeeper Edgard Perron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Champagné players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Montberon were winning 0-1.

The Champagné fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alex Perreau should have stopped the shot.
