Gerald Escaffre struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Célestin Revest didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venelles. A collision led to Montagne getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Enzo Cornil hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gerald Escaffre in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Célestin Revest prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Montagne's zone, Gerald Escaffre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Célestin Revest came out of the goal and Gerald Escaffre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerald Escaffre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célestin Revest having to interfere. A collision led to Venelles getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Oscar Le Moine hit a great ball. Venelles's Barthelemy Adel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Mellet in the 14th minute of play. When Venelles's Guillaume Daguenet in 20 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Célestin Revest guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 20th minute, Enzo Cornil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Firmin Duigou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Barthelemy Adel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Venelles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Micoud to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Firmin Duigou got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Gerald Escaffre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Célestin Revest tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Barthelemy Adel managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Montagne's Firmin Duigou fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 34th minute, Diego Montet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Célestin Revest showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerald Escaffre in the 36th minute of the match. In the 38th match minute, Montagne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Montet to maneuver through the defense. Venelles's Gerald Escaffre got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Guillaume Daguenet left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venelles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After some careless play in the Montagne defense, Guillaume Daguenet kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Célestin Revest. The Montagne fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Célestin Revest should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 56th match minute, Venelles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Le Moine to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Venelles's Guillaume Daguenet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Célestin Revest narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gerald Escaffre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Célestin Revest read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. If Jonas Mellet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, Gilles Choulet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Montagne booed when Venelles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oscar Le Moine didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Jonas Mellet's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barthelemy Adel was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. 74 minutes into the match, Firmin Duigou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barthelemy Adel. Venelles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Firmin Duigou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Barthelemy Adel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Firmin Duigou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montagne's Célestin Revest played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillaume Daguenet in the 86th minute of play. If Gerald Escaffre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Célestin Revest made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerald Escaffre in the 90th minute. 96 minutes into the game, Diego Montet was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montagne's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venelles the free kick. The Venelles players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
