In the 11th minute, Joël Pouzet made a precise shot to the right of Nolan Ducastel. Spéracèdes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After having played for 15 minutes, Joël Pouzet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stains's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joël Pouzet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hercule Champenois blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marius Rosier having to make a save. When Spéracèdes's Octave Guilbot in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stains's goalie prevented a goal. Timothé Chavatte charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Timothé Chavatte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The attack was good, but when Joël Pouzet in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When Joël Pouzet came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Stains fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joël Pouzet couldn't finish the play. Octave Guilbot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marius Rosier having to interfere. The supporters of Spéracèdes booed when Stains was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mohamed Mangel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Stains's goalkeeper Marius Rosier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Stains's Nolan Ducastel threw himself towards the right post 41 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marc Lavorel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to Spéracèdes getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Patrick Arnold hit a great ball. Bixente Fumey was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Octave Guilbot to strike the kick off in the second half. Joël Pouzet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octave Guilbot was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Octave Guilbot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Marius Rosier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Charlie Cerveaux got his second yellow card in the match during the 78th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground.
