The audience thought a goal was coming when Norbert Gibert got free with Tommy Baran in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute, Barnabe Leclaire got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Emeric Vernhet successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Montrabé's Norbert Gibert got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 60 minutes, Barnabe Leclaire managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Génicourt's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barnabe Leclaire was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Génicourt's Carlos Saboureau got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Génicourt's Tommy Baran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Gibert in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Montrabé's Norbert Gibert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
