Rene Lelievre hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Gildas Cabanne struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Camille Delaigue didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Authie. In the 29th minute, Gildas Cabanne fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Santes getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Modeste Mottin hit a great ball. When Gildas Cabanne came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Authie fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gildas Cabanne couldn't finish the play. Camille Delaigue showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roland Boissier, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Marc-Antoine Jardel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Georges Brossard was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Marc-Antoine Jardel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Roland Boissier was the one to do the kick off. Guy Maertens's late challenge caught a Santes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guy Maertens helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Authie! After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Gildas Cabanne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Authie's supporters rose to their feet, but Gildas Cabanne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Camille Delaigue breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Gildas Cabanne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Camille Delaigue. Santes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gildas Cabanne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Camille Delaigue didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gildas Cabanne went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After 77 played minutes Authie got a freekick which was hit by Guy Maertens. Georges Brossard was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Omer Gosset showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 79 minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Roland Boissier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 83 minutes, Modeste Mottin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santes and the Authie players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 83 played minutes Santes got a freekick which was hit by Modeste Mottin. Omer Gosset fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Georges Brossard having to interfere. In the 99th minute, Omer Gosset got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
