With an all-out effort, Marin's Ronan Ferret threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stephane Vila, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Stephane Vila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronan Ferret having to interfere. Francheville's Ronan Ferret proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Francheville from getting a goal against them. The corner led Marin's Maxime Heckel to fire away a dangerous shot which Ronan Ferret despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the Marin defense, Redouane Ciret kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sidney Tinel. The Marin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sidney Tinel should have stopped the shot. In the 27th match minute, Francheville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernand Bourry to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Stephane Vila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronan Ferret was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Jean-Marie Sélosse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Sidney Tinel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Stephane Vila fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Flavian Pivert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jean-Marie Sélosse to strike the kick off in the second half. Flavian Pivert who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Sidney Tinel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Flavian Pivert got free with Sidney Tinel in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jean-Marie Sélosse received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Sidney Tinel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Flavian Pivert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 63 minutes, Stephane Vila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephane Vila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marin's goalkeeper Sidney Tinel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cyril Duthilleul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Ronan Ferret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cyril Duthilleul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronan Ferret having to interfere. Stephane Vila hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Redouane Ciret recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 81st minute, Cyril Duthilleul left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
