Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Montferrand's Moise Liberge started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Philippe Coutellier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moise Liberge in the 5th minute of play forced Villemeneux's goalkeeper Fernand Moussaoui to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 6 played minutes Villemeneux got a freekick which was hit by Rayan Rouet. In the 12th minute, Montferrand's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Donovan Béquet fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 19th minute Moise Liberge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernand Moussaoui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Philippe Coutellier hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Donovan Béquet might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boris Lecanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Donovan Béquet ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Donovan Béquet in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boris Lecanu saved Montferrand from getting behind. After 33 minutes, Lionel Martinon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Montferrand and the Villemeneux players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 33 played minutes Montferrand got a freekick which was hit by Lionel Martinon. Villemeneux's Faustin Sagna couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Montferrand. If Donovan Béquet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donovan Béquet in the 38th minute of play forced Montferrand's goalkeeper Boris Lecanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 40 minutes of play, Montferrand's Cyprien Pupin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fernand Moussaoui was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Villemeneux defense, Moise Liberge kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernand Moussaoui. The Villemeneux fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernand Moussaoui should have stopped the shot.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Donovan Béquet to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Montferrand's zone, Donovan Béquet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boris Lecanu came out of the goal and Donovan Béquet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moise Liberge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Moussaoui having to interfere. If Donovan Béquet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Villemeneux's Lionel Rumeau got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Donovan Béquet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Villemeneux's supporters rose to their feet, but Donovan Béquet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boris Lecanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. During the 76th minute of the match Lionel Martinon completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Lionel Martinon a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Villemeneux booed when Montferrand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lionel Martinon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Louis Sartori got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernand Moussaoui made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Cyprien Pupin sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maël Miclo during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernand Moussaoui was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Auguste Dutertre. In the 89th minute Moise Liberge suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of Montferrand booed when Villemeneux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joey Vanel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the game, Samuel Rouzier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Montferrand's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Villemeneux the free kick. The referee gave Villemeneux a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Faustin Sagna, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Montferrand's Boris Lecanu. 1-2.
