Villemeneux's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Faustin Sagna in the 5th minute. The corner led to Villemeneux's Youri Fougeron getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Richard Larcheveque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Fernand Moussaoui tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lionel Rumeau struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Josselin Mege didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Villemeneux. Joey Vanel charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joey Vanel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th match minute, Villemeneux was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joey Vanel to maneuver through the defense. After 18 minutes Villemeneux's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rodrigue Lafaurie who took care of the corner kick. In the 20th minute, Richard Larcheveque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Louvain booed when Villemeneux was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joey Vanel didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Louvain getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Sofiane Bourse hit a great ball. 24 minutes into the match, Villemeneux's Donovan Béquet sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josselin Mege narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sofiane Bourse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Moussaoui having to interfere. Rayan Rouet's late challenge caught a Louvain's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rayan Rouet helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Villemeneux getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Rayan Rouet hit a great ball. When Joey Vanel was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 30 minutes had been played. Joey Vanel hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Sofiane Bourse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Richard Larcheveque scored 1-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernand Moussaoui, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 43rd minute, Richard Larcheveque fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Louvain's Richard Larcheveque got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Villemeneux's zone, Richard Larcheveque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernand Moussaoui came out of the goal and Richard Larcheveque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sofiane Bourse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Moussaoui having to interfere. After some careless play in the Villemeneux defense, Sofiane Bourse kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernand Moussaoui. The Villemeneux fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernand Moussaoui should have stopped the shot. When Lionel Rumeau came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Villemeneux fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lionel Rumeau couldn't finish the play. If Maël Miclo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reda Helie's late challenge caught a Villemeneux's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Reda Helie helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Villemeneux booed when Louvain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reda Helie didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Villemeneux's goal looked a bit too open when Sofiane Bourse came free, but Fernand Moussaoui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Richard Larcheveque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Moussaoui having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Villemeneux players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Louvain.
