Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Fabregas's Ludovic Abelard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Serge Vandenabeele came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Salomon's Rodrigue Pestel. But to his dismay, Rodrigue Pestel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Luc Giry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. Serge Vandenabeele took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigue Pestel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th match minute, Fabregas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philippe Marciniak to maneuver through the defense. Rodrigue Pestel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Vandenabeele having to interfere. Ludovic Abelard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florent Hudry having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anthony Plantade during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Salomon's Anthony Plantade got a free kick in the 19th minute. Florent Hudry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ludovic Abelard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 30 minutes, Luc Giry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salomon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luc Giry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodrigue Pestel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serge Vandenabeele having to interfere. Rodrigue Pestel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Paulo Maes put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Salomon a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Michael Gourdin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fabregas's Serge Vandenabeele. 0-2. 1-2 became the score in the 47th minute when Joey Coquet elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After the first half Salomon were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Rodrigue Pestel made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes Fabregas got a freekick which was hit by Philippe Marciniak. Joey Coquet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florent Hudry having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Redouane Quemere in the 60th minute of play forced Salomon's goalkeeper Florent Hudry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Salomon got a freekick which was hit by Michael Gourdin. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Rodrigue Pestel took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Serge Vandenabeele to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Fabregas booed when Salomon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Guillois didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joey Coquet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Florent Hudry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salomon's Florent Hudry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joey Coquet in the 81st minute of play. Fabregas's Joey Coquet got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florent Hudry made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joey Coquet in the 85th minute of play. Rodrigue Pestel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Fabregas's Serge Vandenabeele got control of the ball when Luc Giry tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Salomon eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
