The audience thought a goal was coming when Romaric Paquin got free with Paul-Émile Gaudre in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jocelyn Soula fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octave Marlot having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Katzenthal's zone, Jocelyn Soula stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octave Marlot came out of the goal and Jocelyn Soula tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paul-Émile Gaudre came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Katzenthal's Jean-François Pagniez. But to his dismay, Jean-François Pagniez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Grégory Verhille fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paul-Émile Gaudre having to interfere. If Jocelyn Soula had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Jocelyn Soula managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vedene's supporters rose to their feet, but Jocelyn Soula was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octave Marlot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Octave Marlot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jocelyn Soula, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute.

The wind increased when Grégory Verhille made the kick off in the second half. Jean-François Pagniez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jolan Loubière's late challenge caught a Katzenthal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jolan Loubière helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 played minutes Vedene got a freekick which was hit by Jolan Loubière. Vedene's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Katzenthal's Octave Marlot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernest Carli in the 66th minute of play. Ernest Carli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Katzenthal fans cheered their team off the field, for while Vedene had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
