The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Faudel Aury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lesches's Hector Thiébault proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Lesches from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute of the match Olivier Andre shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hector Thiébault showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Faudel Aury could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Hector Thiébault made a huge save. Fred Bourgault received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Roland Coutin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brian Helias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hector Thiébault read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. When Fontenay's Brian Helias in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lesches's goalie prevented a goal. Brian Helias was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Fontenay's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brian Helias in the 39th minute of play forced Lesches's goalkeeper Hector Thiébault to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faudel Aury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Thiébault having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julien Ali to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Faudel Aury got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Faudel Aury received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Hector Thiébault tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Faudel Aury cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Fontenay's goalkeeper Roland Coutin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fred Bourgault. Hector Thiébault made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faudel Aury in the 84th minute of play. Roland Coutin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julien Ali in the 85th minute of the match. Faudel Aury received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Hector Thiébault tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Lesches got a freekick which was hit by Julien Ali. Hector Thiébault stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brian Helias's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. Faudel Aury struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Hector Thiébault didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fontenay. There was no doubt that Fontenay were the better team. Fontenay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
