Dominique Ritter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martial Moussu, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Rene Doublet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dominique Ritter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aubagne's Aymerick Monceau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Sarre in the 13th minute of play. Aymerick Monceau stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tommy Sarre's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Martial Moussu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Frontignan's Dominique Ritter. Dominique Ritter was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Frontignan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Aubagne were winning 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tommy Sarre was the one to do the kick off. Gilbert Gard made a great header on Aubagne's corner, it was just that Frontignan's Dominique Ritter managed to reach the ball for a save. The Aubagne supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Aubagne would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
