The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benoit Hamadi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Courrèges, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Kevin Hoffmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 13th minute Lorenzo Courrèges shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benoit Hamadi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jean-Marc Pascual had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But to his dismay, Georges Pillon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. 32 minutes into the match, Jarod Claudel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kevin Hoffmann. Banneix's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarod Claudel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Lucas Lefaure hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Lorenzo Courrèges reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benoit Hamadi. The goal made the score 2-4. Grabels's Benoit Hamadi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Grabels from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Banneix booed when Grabels was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donald Caujolle didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half Grabels were leading 2-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Lorenzo Courrèges made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Marc Pascual in the 55th minute of play forced Grabels's goalkeeper Benoit Hamadi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jarod Claudel got free with Kevin Hoffmann in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Lucas Lefaure was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 86 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Banneix's Lucas Lefaure got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute, Grabels's Georges Pillon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Kevin Hoffmann. Kevin Hoffmann yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-6. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Grabels had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
