When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Bastien Cabon took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Joachim Février to make any attempt to save it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Karl Varnier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles-Henri Chaperon in the 54th minute of the match. If Achille Plane had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute, Martial Bultez made a precise shot to the right of Joachim Février. Verlinghem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Joachim Février showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barthelemy Machado, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Charles-Henri Chaperon managed to get in a good position for a shot.
