Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Portet's Martial Bultez started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Henri Le Mat was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Roques's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portet the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of Roques:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Portet:s goal. In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Portet. Zinedine Wetzel stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Robert Battut. 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Portet's goalkeeper Karl Varnier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romuald Guillemot. 12 minutes into the match, Portet's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Carlier came free, but Karl Varnier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Portet's Karl Varnier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Portet from getting a goal against them. 17 minutes into the game, Joel Fauquembergue cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Karl Varnier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martial Bultez in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Robert Battut saved Roques from getting behind. Harold Carlier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Karl Varnier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 played minutes, Roques's Romuald Cosse shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karl Varnier came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Roques reached it. If Joel Fauquembergue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harold Carlier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the game, Joel Fauquembergue cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Karl Varnier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Karl Varnier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harold Carlier in the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Roques booed when Portet was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Michel Cogne didn't get a good kick on the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Roques's Romuald Cosse broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Martial Bultez put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Robert Battut. A collision led to Portet getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Berenger Jacquemont hit a great ball. Robert Battut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martial Bultez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Portet booed when Roques was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carl Beaucourt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martial Bultez in the 89th minute of play forced Roques's goalkeeper Robert Battut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Joel Fauquembergue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl Varnier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harold Carlier in the 96th minute of play forced Portet's goalkeeper Karl Varnier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
