Martial Emo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Delesalle having to interfere. If Philippe Massol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Malik Perard charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Malik Perard the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jean Delesalle was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Philippe Massol showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. Philippe Massol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Delesalle having to interfere. Martial Emo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean Delesalle having to interfere. In the 34th minute Philippe Massol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Delesalle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pierre Mischler hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philippe Massol in the 38th minute of play forced Castries's goalkeeper Jean Delesalle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Renaud Richardeau sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raphael Deram to strike the kick off in the second half. Spay's Titouan Lavorel couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Castries. Renaud Richardeau succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 63rd playminute. 69 minutes into the game, Martial Emo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Spay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Castries the free kick. Mathias Billat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renaud Richardeau in the 71st minute. Spay's Mathias Billat played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raphael Deram in the 75th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Philippe Massol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Delesalle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Philippe Massol took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jean Delesalle. Jean Delesalle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 92 minutes into the match, Castries's goal looked a bit too open when Philippe Massol came free, but Jean Delesalle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that Spay were the better team. Spay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
