Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Cousquille's Edgard Gonzalez started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Guentrange getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Maurice Veret hit a great ball. Edgard Gonzalez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th match minute, Cousquille was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honoré Crével to maneuver through the defense. Gilles Didierjean recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee ignored Guentrange's protests and gave Yann Diard a yellow card for diving instead. After 34 played minutes Guentrange got a freekick which was hit by Yann Diard. The supporters of Cousquille booed when Guentrange was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre Specht didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Dimitri Philippot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the game, Cousquille's Edgard Gonzalez nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Danny Desreumaux made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 48 minutes, Pierre Specht managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guentrange's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre Specht was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilles Didierjean to strike the kick off in the second half. Gilles Didierjean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joël Bedu having to interfere. When Edgard Gonzalez came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Cousquille fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Gonzalez couldn't finish the play.
