Charles Fradet kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Jolan Fièvet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henri Périé having to interfere. 37 minutes into the match, Chereng's Pierre-Antoine Vouillon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Germain Droin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 47 played minutes Chereng got a freekick which was hit by Pierre-Antoine Peigne. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jolan Fièvet to make the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Marseille's Jolan Fièvet made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Henri Périé was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 58th minute, Amine Guille hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, Chereng's goal looked a bit too open when Jolan Fièvet came free, but Henri Périé reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Pierre-Antoine Vouillon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moussa Bourg's late challenge caught a Chereng's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Moussa Bourg helped the player get up and apologised. After 73 played minutes Marseille got a freekick which was hit by Moussa Bourg. Marseille's Germain Droin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Marseille from getting a goal against them. Germain Droin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pacôme Henry, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marseille's Germain Droin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pacôme Henry in the 83rd minute of play. Pacôme Henry's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Germain Droin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Alex Giannini kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 87 played minutes, Chereng's Cheikh Loche shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Germain Droin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chereng reached it. After having played for 92 minutes, Pierre-Antoine Vouillon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chereng's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pierre-Antoine Vouillon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Hippolyte Roulleau managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marseille's supporters rose to their feet, but Hippolyte Roulleau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henri Périé breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Marseille had won after a very even match.
