The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Manuel Soudan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benoit Bossu having to interfere. 8 minutes into the game, Emmanuel Fayol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cabestany's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Avouzon the free kick. In the 8th minute, Emmanuel Fayol hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Manuel Soudan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benoit Bossu was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cabestany fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! In the 14th minute there was a penalty for Avouzon. Flavian Larbi stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Raphael Burgaud. 0-1. Tristan Le Moine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Raphael Burgaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Soudan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benoit Bossu having to interfere. Raphael Burgaud made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tristan Le Moine in the 22nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Blaise Chaigne during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 30 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cabestany! The referee gave Avouzon a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Flavian Larbi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cabestany's Raphael Burgaud. 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristan Le Moine in the 35th minute of play forced Cabestany's goalkeeper Raphael Burgaud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Soudan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benoit Bossu having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Soudan in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benoit Bossu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raphael Burgaud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tristan Le Moine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Soudan in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benoit Bossu saved Avouzon from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Willy Berrou during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Willy Berrou hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. 56 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Cabestany's Manuel Soudan fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 63rd minute, Samuel Baumont hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Manuel Soudan came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Cabestany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Soudan couldn't finish the play. If Manuel Soudan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Soudan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Benoit Bossu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cabestany booed when Avouzon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luc Lesecq didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Manuel Soudan in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benoit Bossu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Manuel Soudan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes in the game, Tristan Le Moine fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Raphael Burgaud having to interfere. When Cabestany's Manuel Soudan in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Avouzon's goalie prevented a goal. The Cabestany supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Avouzon's performance. The match ended with a win for Avouzon.
