Rubelles's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raphael Burgaud breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Remi Mazur recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marc Cardoso took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raphael Burgaud. Raphael Burgaud dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 31st minute of the match Cyril Blay sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raphael Burgaud skillfully saved the ball. Cabestany's Boris Boeuf got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rubelles's Marc Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raphael Burgaud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marc Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

59 minutes into the game, Cabestany's Manuel Soudan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rudy Pellegrini made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1.
