After 11 played minutes Galère got a freekick which was hit by Roland Graveleau. In the 14th minute Paul Bidot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georges Saulnier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jimmy Court had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Fernand Reboux got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Paul Bidot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pierre-Olivier Terret's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georges Saulnier read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Galère's Marc-Aurèle Maurer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmy Court in the 33rd minute of play. Fernand Reboux might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marc-Aurèle Maurer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernand Reboux ran back to his position shaking his head. 36 minutes into the match, Galère's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmy Court came free, but Marc-Aurèle Maurer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute Francois Leveille suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of Coupvray booed when Galère was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tanguy Bray didn't get a good kick on the ball. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paul Bidot was the one to do the kick off. Marc-Aurèle Maurer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernand Reboux, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Georges Saulnier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Bidot in the 66th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernand Reboux in the 69th minute of play forced Galère's goalkeeper Marc-Aurèle Maurer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Fernand Reboux's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marc-Aurèle Maurer was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Roland Graveleau fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Galère's protests and gave Roland Graveleau a yellow card for diving instead. Coupvray's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
