In the 12th minute, Renaud Massip made a precise shot to the right of Francis Brien. Ruelisheim's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Renaud Massip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Frontignan's goal looked a bit too open when Matthieu Poulain came free, but Ferdinand Montfort reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Ruelisheim booed when Frontignan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Guichon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinand Montfort was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Salim Sureau capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Salim Sureau really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 23rd minute, Fernand Smadja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 24 minutes, Renaud Massip managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Frontignan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Renaud Massip was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferdinand Montfort showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthieu Poulain in the 27th minute of the match. Renaud Massip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Benjamin Lepere came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Frontignan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Lepere couldn't finish the play. Salim Sureau who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Ferdinand Montfort when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Matthieu Poulain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Salim Sureau came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ruelisheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salim Sureau couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthieu Poulain made a kick off. Ferdinand Montfort made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthieu Poulain in the 52nd minute of play. Frontignan's Cesar Guichon got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dan Brunaud in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Francis Brien, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Yves Kretz charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yves Kretz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Ruelisheim:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Frontignan:s goal. Dan Brunaud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francis Brien having to interfere. If Renaud Massip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francis Brien made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Dan Brunaud sent off a good shot on target. Francis Brien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renaud Massip, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Renaud Massip sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dan Brunaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Francis Brien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dan Brunaud couldn't finish the play. After 86 minutes, Benjamin Lepere mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frontignan and the Ruelisheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. Matthieu Poulain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdinand Montfort read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Renaud Massip recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 96th minute Ruelisheim were awarded a corner. Yves Kretz went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ruelisheim's Yves Kretz to fire away a dangerous shot which Ferdinand Montfort despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 98th minute Renaud Massip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francis Brien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frontignan's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
