The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Moïse Leproust recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pacôme Platel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moïse Leproust in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marvin Tricaud in the 10th minute of play forced Gardanne's goalkeeper Bilal Péret to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 12th match minute, Gardanne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cyprien Combet to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Gardanne getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Roman Said hit a great ball. Zinedine Bergeot took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bilal Péret. Gardanne's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Cendras getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Zinedine Bergeot hit a great ball. Marvin Tricaud struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Bilal Péret didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cendras. Barthélémy Bruneel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Barthélémy Bruneel came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Cendras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barthélémy Bruneel couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Barthélémy Bruneel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cendras's supporters rose to their feet, but Barthélémy Bruneel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bilal Péret breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moïse Leproust who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Pacôme Platel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Roman Said's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pacôme Platel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luis Le Saux during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cendras booed when Gardanne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Le Saux didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bilal Péret made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barthélémy Bruneel in the 39th minute of play. Pacôme Platel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marco Chareyron, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Bilal Péret showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marvin Tricaud in the 42nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Chareyron in the 43rd minute of play forced Cendras's goalkeeper Pacôme Platel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Moïse Leproust had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Barthélémy Bruneel made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Marco Chareyron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gardanne's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Chareyron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pacôme Platel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 56 minutes into the match, Gardanne's goal looked a bit too open when Barthélémy Bruneel came free, but Bilal Péret reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roman Said hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Zinedine Bergeot from long distance, 66 minutes into the match, got Bilal Péret's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Marco Chareyron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pacôme Platel having to interfere. Barthélémy Bruneel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Bilal Péret tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Barthélémy Bruneel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bilal Péret. The goal made the score 0-1. After a rather tough play, Gardanne's Omer Godey got a free kick in the 89th minute. Marco Chareyron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pacôme Platel having to interfere. Pacôme Platel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Chareyron in the 96th minute of play. Cendras's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
