In the 2nd minute, Benoît Monneret got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felicien Heyer made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ramzi Vignal sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Edange's Benoît Monneret got a free kick in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Custines's goalkeeper Felicien Heyer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramzi Vignal. After 60 played minutes Edange got a freekick which was hit by Frédéric Néron. Éric Gilles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olivier Bodin in the 65th minute. When Olivier Bodin came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Custines fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olivier Bodin couldn't finish the play. If Olivier Bodin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benoît Monneret fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felicien Heyer having to interfere. Edange's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Custines the free kick. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
