Emmanuel Francisco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hocine Ancel in the 11th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Herbouvilliers got a freekick which was hit by Lionel Lorion. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximilien Ricquebourg got free with Joaquim Levant in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Seurin in the 24th minute of play forced Herbouvilliers's goalkeeper Emmanuel Francisco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Billy Seurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meylan fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Joaquim Levant had in the 31stth minute some difficulties stopping Paul-Henri Guilleminot's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Emmanuel Francisco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hocine Ancel in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Meylan's Hocine Ancel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emmanuel Francisco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Billy Seurin struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Emmanuel Francisco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Meylan. In the 45th minute Charly Lebourgeois shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Levant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hocine Ancel to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Tim Phelippeau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 53 minutes, Maximilien Ricquebourg made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Meylan's Joaquim Levant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Herbouvilliers's goalkeeper Emmanuel Francisco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Herbouvilliers's Emmanuel Francisco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hocine Ancel in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute, Billy Seurin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Herbouvilliers's zone, Hocine Ancel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emmanuel Francisco came out of the goal and Hocine Ancel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emmanuel Francisco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Billy Seurin in the 81st minute. If Charly Lebourgeois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 97 minutes into the match, Meylan's goal looked a bit too open when Bertrand Sellier came free, but Joaquim Levant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Meylan's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
