In the 8th minute Damien Dumont shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Bruere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Caillot booed when Cannes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florent Roesch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caillot's Paulo Damas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Caillot from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 20th minute by Arnaud Morant got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 27th minute, Ferdinand Verne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute Cannes were awarded a corner. Louis Fily went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Louis Fily got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Paulo Damas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Caillot's Paulo Damas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Caillot from getting a goal against them. Cannes's Tony Bondu got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hubert Bruere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damien Dumont in the 42nd minute of the match. Paulo Damas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaud Morant, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnaud Morant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Paulo Damas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Kylian Tourte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute Paulo Le Roch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hubert Bruere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Le Roch in the 84th minute of play forced Cannes's goalkeeper Hubert Bruere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaud Morant in the 88th minute of play forced Caillot's goalkeeper Paulo Damas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Damien Dumont fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hubert Bruere having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Caillot's zone, Arnaud Morant stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Damas came out of the goal and Arnaud Morant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
