In the 15th match minute, Saclay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robin Pontier to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Pontier in the 21st minute of play forced Fabregas's goalkeeper Aymerick Nowicki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aymerick Nowicki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Junior Augendre in the 22nd minute. Joaquim Raynaud blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jason Maheo having to make a save. The crowd rose to their feet as Saclay's Claude Labruyère slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aymerick Nowicki. That made the score 2-1 after 38 minutes of play. Olivier Bart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Maheo having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claude Labruyère to make the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match Sylvain Compère shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aymerick Nowicki showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Joaquim Raynaud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jason Maheo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claude Labruyère received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Fabregas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Raynaud was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Jason Maheo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Junior Augendre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Saclay's Claude Labruyère in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fabregas's goalie prevented a goal. Joaquim Raynaud's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason Maheo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play.
