Renaud Khelifi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gildas Christin came out and tried to block the shot, but Renaud Khelifi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the game, Renaud Khelifi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mulhouse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ripelle the free kick. A collision led to Mulhouse getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Renaud Khelifi hit a great ball. If Raymond Gaget had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aziz Cloarec hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After having played for 12 minutes, Johan Giquel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ripelle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johan Giquel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Raymond Gaget in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevan Degrange saved Mulhouse from getting behind. In the 26th minute Luis Boulier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildas Christin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ripelle's zone, Dove Murcia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gildas Christin came out of the goal and Dove Murcia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Ripelle's Johan Giquel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kevan Degrange narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Giquel in the 35th minute of play forced Mulhouse's goalkeeper Kevan Degrange to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevan Degrange took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raymond Gaget, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rd minute, Johan Giquel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luis Boulier to make the kick off. Kevan Degrange made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Stanislas Marliere sent off a good shot on target. Raymond Gaget could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Kevan Degrange made a huge save. Raymond Gaget sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gildas Christin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Boulier went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Kevan Degrange made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Raymond Gaget sent off a good shot on target. Mulhouse's Kevan Degrange proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Mulhouse from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Ripelle booed when Mulhouse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Bride didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mario Pique, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Johan Giquel in the 69th managed to get into a good position. After 83 played minutes Ripelle got a freekick which was hit by Mario Pique. Dove Murcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 93 played minutes Mulhouse got a freekick which was hit by Norbert Florent. Raymond Gaget fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kevan Degrange having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mulhouse had won after a very even match.
