The crowd rose to their feet as Francis Pavan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nelson Bachelot. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. Nelson Bachelot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Pavan, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Romain Lardon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Stanislas Jung made a precise shot to the right of Madjid Bonenfant. Quiévrechain's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Bègles's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Romain Lardon scored to the left of an out of position Nelson Bachelot, making the score, 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francis Pavan to make the kick off. Quiévrechain's Madjid Bonenfant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Quiévrechain from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Bègles's zone, Francis Pavan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelson Bachelot came out of the goal and Francis Pavan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Bègles's Ronan Hénault got a free kick in the 68th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanislas Jung got free with Madjid Bonenfant in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Enzo Florent received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Madjid Bonenfant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Bègles getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Cyril Géry hit a great ball. Nelson Bachelot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Romain Lardon went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. In the 83rd minute, Francis Pavan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 84 played minutes Bègles got a freekick which was hit by Ronan Hénault. Cyril Géry hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute of the match Isaac Lavabre shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nelson Bachelot showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Bègles getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Noé Félicité hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bègles's zone, Francis Pavan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nelson Bachelot came out of the goal and Francis Pavan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bègles's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
