The referee showed Benoît Kayser the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, one of Custines:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Custines. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Lilian Taieb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Custines's supporters rose to their feet, but Lilian Taieb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Corne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rodrigue Blanckaert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Custines getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Luis Emmanuel hit a great ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lilian Taieb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rodrigue Blanckaert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noel Tetart, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After having played for 55 minutes, Celestin Pichot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Châteauvallon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celestin Pichot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lilian Taieb might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Junior Corne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lilian Taieb ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Lilian Taieb managed to get in a good position for a shot. Custines's supporters rose to their feet, but Lilian Taieb was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Corne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugo Guilloteau's late challenge caught a Custines's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Guilloteau helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Châteauvallon's Hugo Guilloteau got a free kick in the 84th minute. The Châteauvallon supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Châteauvallon would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
