The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute, Léopold Coupat got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilbert Garbay in the 8th minute of play forced Châteauvallon's goalkeeper Junior Corne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean Méresse showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celestin Pichot in the 11th minute of the match. Alain Ribot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th minute, Alain Ribot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Châteauvallon's Celestin Pichot ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jean Méresse. Jean Méresse yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. A hard shot 30 in the game by Alain Ribot from a close distance when the talented Jean Méresse managed to make a qualified save. Barre's players were relieved. Gilbert Garbay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Junior Corne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 34 minutes into the match, Châteauvallon's goal looked a bit too open when Léopold Coupat came free, but Junior Corne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Barre's Gilbert Garbay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Junior Corne narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Gilbert Garbay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barre's supporters rose to their feet, but Gilbert Garbay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Corne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Léopold Coupat to make the kick off. In the 59th minute of the match, Gilbert Garbay got a very nice opportunity to score, but Junior Corne was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Châteauvallon getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Hugo Guilloteau hit a great ball. Junior Corne was a little too slow when Léopold Coupat got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Châteauvallon's goalkeeper Junior Corne, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léopold Coupat in the 84th minute of play forced Châteauvallon's goalkeeper Junior Corne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celestin Pichot struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Jean Méresse didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Châteauvallon. Franck Borgne charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Franck Borgne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Châteauvallon booed when Barre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franck Borgne didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Châteauvallon's Samuel Thouin broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestin Pichot in the 95th minute of play forced Barre's goalkeeper Jean Méresse to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barre's goalkeeper Jean Méresse, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
