The Talence fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when Talence's Timothé Prot looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Talence getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Aymerick Baroni hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Difroud's Felix Herbert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Youri Lecordier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 32 minutes into the game, Charles-Emmanuel Boursier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Talence's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Difroud the free kick. After 32 played minutes Talence got a freekick which was hit by Charles-Emmanuel Boursier. When Felix Herbert came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Difroud fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Herbert couldn't finish the play. If Vivien Guibert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Charles-Emmanuel Boursier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talence's supporters rose to their feet, but Charles-Emmanuel Boursier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mourad Deloffre breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felix Herbert to strike the kick off in the second half. Timothé Prot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Herbert in the 65th minute of play forced Talence's goalkeeper Youri Lecordier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Charles-Emmanuel Boursier hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Difroud's goal looked a bit too open when Timothé Prot came free, but Mourad Deloffre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jean-Philippe Moulinet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Timothé Prot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mourad Deloffre was relentless in the 84th minute of the game.
