Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jordan Pamphile kicked off to start the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Jordan Pamphile managed to get in a good position for a shot. Besançon's supporters rose to their feet, but Jordan Pamphile was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Girodon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Meurchin's Billy Deniau got a free kick in the 7th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Boris Pinna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Besançon's supporters rose to their feet, but Boris Pinna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Girodon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Boris Pinna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Meurchin's Lucien Salas got a free kick in the 15th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Boris Pinna notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Meurchin's Roland Girodon. Roland Girodon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tommy Santerre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marc Senez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Besançon's goalkeeper Tommy Santerre, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jordan Pamphile's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roland Girodon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Donovan Houpert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Santerre having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donovan Houpert in the 32nd minute of play forced Besançon's goalkeeper Tommy Santerre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37thth minute of the game Donovan Houpert who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Besançon's Tommy Santerre was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Besançon defense, Marc Senez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Santerre. The Besançon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Santerre should have stopped the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Jordan Pamphile dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Roland Girodon, 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Donovan Houpert was the one to do the kick off. Tommy Santerre showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Deniau in the 52nd minute of the match. Donovan Houpert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Santerre having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Besançon's goalkeeper Tommy Santerre had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marc Senez. Jordan Pamphile recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Meurchin's Sylvain Herpin got a free kick in the 70th minute. Boris Pinna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Joe Roch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Meurchin defense, Jordan Pamphile kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roland Girodon. The Meurchin fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roland Girodon should have stopped the shot. Jordan Pamphile took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roland Girodon. Roland Girodon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After a rather tough play, Meurchin's Lucien Salas got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Boris Pinna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Girodon having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Besançon's zone, Donovan Houpert stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Santerre came out of the goal and Donovan Houpert tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Meurchin's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
