Roland Girodon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barnabe Marcadet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marc Senez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Fernand Floc H made a huge save. Barnabe Marcadet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Roland Girodon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Meurchin's Donovan Houpert got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roland Girodon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Charles Peronnet in the 25th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Vétraz's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Donovan Houpert fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Meurchin booed when Vétraz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Quemener didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dimitri Pinto was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. A hard shot by Yannick Guénon from long distance, 36 minutes into the match, got Fernand Floc H's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erwin Cornut during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donovan Houpert in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernand Floc H prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Meurchin's Roland Girodon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charles Peronnet in the 42nd minute of play. Meurchin's Marc Senez got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roland Girodon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barnabe Marcadet, who was totally free with the ball in the 49th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Donovan Houpert made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Dimitri Pinto sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernand Floc H skillfully saved the ball. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Marc Senez sped through Vétraz's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fernand Floc H. 64 minutes into the match, Meurchin's goal looked a bit too open when Charles Peronnet came free, but Roland Girodon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fernand Floc H didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marc Senez went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Jason Bache hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Marc Senez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernand Floc H having to interfere. After 85 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Meurchin! In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vétraz's goalkeeper Fernand Floc H, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Donovan Houpert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Charles Peronnet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 100th minute. Roland Girodon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
