The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tanguy Dumay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Omar Ballereau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Didier Costantini in the 5th minute of play forced Pruniers's goalkeeper Omar Ballereau to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexis Chalancon did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Maurice Davignon 13 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexis Chalancon in the 21st minute of play forced Versailles's goalkeeper Maurice Davignon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maurice Davignon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexis Chalancon's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute of the match Cyprien Beuzelin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Omar Ballereau showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Maurice Davignon came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Pruniers's Alfred Vassard. But to his dismay, Alfred Vassard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After 32 played minutes Versailles got a freekick which was hit by Aziz Itier. Pruniers's Sidney Dumur was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Maurice Davignon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Maurice Davignon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexis Chalancon in the 41st minute of the match. Versailles's Didier Costantini got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexis Chalancon was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute Alexis Chalancon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maurice Davignon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pruniers getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Sidney Dumur hit a great ball. 55 minutes into the match, Barnabé Renucci had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maurice Davignon. Versailles's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barnabé Renucci was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Didier Costantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Omar Ballereau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alfred Vassard fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pruniers's protests and gave Alfred Vassard a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Versailles booed when Pruniers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfred Vassard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Didier Costantini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Omar Ballereau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tanguy Dumay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Didier Costantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pruniers's Omar Ballereau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didier Costantini in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Tanguy Dumay made a precise shot to the right of Omar Ballereau. Pruniers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Alexis Chalancon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Maurice Davignon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Didier Costantini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Omar Ballereau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pruniers getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Alphonse Sturm hit a great ball. Omar Ballereau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Didier Costantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Versailles's Aziz Itier got a free kick in the 90th minute. Alexis Chalancon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Davignon having to interfere. Pruniers's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
