Robert Guilmain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Théodore Guicheteau, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Piard in the 29th minute of play forced Grigny's goalkeeper Robert Guilmain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Guilmain came out of the goal and Théodore Guicheteau tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Théodore Guicheteau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rouvignies's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
