Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Salim Amestoy made the kick off which started today's match. Zinedine Barbey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ghislain Fritsch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Salim Amestoy in the 11th minute of play forced Staffelfelden's goalkeeper Ghislain Fritsch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zinedine Barbey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Salim Amestoy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jean Croze made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reda Caron in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Staffelfelden's Reda Caron nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean Croze made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Salim Amestoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ghislain Fritsch having to interfere. The supporters of Bassens booed when Staffelfelden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frederic Ruckebusch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ghislain Fritsch made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zinedine Barbey in the 38th minute. Staffelfelden's Reda Caron got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Staffelfelden were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hippolyte Roquet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Bassens's zone, Reda Caron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Croze came out of the goal and Reda Caron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ghislain Fritsch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salim Amestoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Hippolyte Roquet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jean Croze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reda Caron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jean Croze made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reda Caron in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Bassens's goal looked a bit too open when Hippolyte Roquet came free, but Jean Croze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zinedine Barbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Staffelfelden getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Frederic Ruckebusch hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Reda Caron managed to get in a good position for a shot. Staffelfelden's supporters rose to their feet, but Reda Caron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean Croze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Bassens's Zinedine Barbey in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Staffelfelden's goalie prevented a goal. If Zinedine Barbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Bassens's zone, Hippolyte Roquet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jean Croze came out of the goal and Hippolyte Roquet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
