The long shot by Josselin Voltz in the 3rd minute really tested Jean Croze's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Pierre-Antoine Le Clech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salim Amestoy in the 8th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salim Amestoy in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierre-Antoine Le Clech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 9th match minute, Mesclans was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Pretot to maneuver through the defense. After 11 played minutes Bassens got a freekick which was hit by Aymerick Chauvot. Jean Croze made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurent Sarda in the 17th minute of play. With a little luck, Bassens's Jean Croze got control of the ball when Noa Leproust tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Zinedine Barbey made a precise shot to the right of Pierre-Antoine Le Clech. Mesclans's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 26 minutes into the match, Mesclans's Pierre-Antoine Raffard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jean Croze narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Zinedine Barbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zinedine Barbey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre-Antoine Le Clech having to interfere. Bassens's Zinedine Barbey got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Mesclans's goal looked a bit too open when Salim Amestoy came free, but Pierre-Antoine Le Clech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Bassens were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pierre-Antoine Raffard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zinedine Barbey who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Pierre-Antoine Le Clech when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Mesclans's zone, Salim Amestoy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre-Antoine Le Clech came out of the goal and Salim Amestoy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute Salim Amestoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pierre-Antoine Le Clech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mesclans's goalkeeper Pierre-Antoine Le Clech, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 64 minutes into the game, Aymerick Chauvot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bassens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mesclans the free kick. After a rather tough play, Bassens's Aymerick Chauvot got a free kick in the 64th minute. Noa Leproust sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Pierre-Antoine Raffard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierre-Antoine Raffard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Jean Croze tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Noa Leproust had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Zinedine Barbey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pierre-Antoine Le Clech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Leo Ripoche fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre-Antoine Le Clech having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bassens eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
