The referee showed Gameiro Mangel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th minute, Stephane Lagrave sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rivière's Bruce Corbeau didn't even have to move. Jean Croze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thierry Terrasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute Salim Amestoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruce Corbeau saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salim Amestoy was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 26 minutes into the match, Salim Amestoy dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bruce Corbeau, 1-0. Thierry Terrasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 34 minutes into the game, Leo Ripoche was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bassens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rivière the free kick. In the 34th minute, Leo Ripoche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salim Amestoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruce Corbeau having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faustin Nowicki in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean Croze prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Faustin Nowicki was the one to do the kick off. Faustin Nowicki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 54 played minutes Bassens got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Bihan. 55 minutes into the match, Rivière's Romain Sudre broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Faustin Nowicki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jean Croze. That made the score 1-1 in the 57 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Terrasson in the 68th minute of play forced Bassens's goalkeeper Jean Croze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute, Darren Paquet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Zinedine Barbey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bassens's Zinedine Barbey pulled a muscle in his back after 80 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 80 minutes, Sam Friess mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rivière and the Bassens players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th minute, one of Rivière:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rivière. Bruce Corbeau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salim Amestoy in the 86th minute of play. Thierry Terrasson kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Salim Amestoy struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Bruce Corbeau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bassens. The Rivière players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
