Gauthier Abadie could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Mike Mauroy made a huge save. 4 minutes into the game, Lucas Merlot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mouen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Epagny the free kick. After 4 played minutes Mouen got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Merlot. Epagny's Gabin Lejosne shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 6th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Mike Mauroy but with some difficulty. When Bruno Meissonnier came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Mouen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bruno Meissonnier couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Mouen's Mike Mauroy got control of the ball when Gauthier Abadie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mike Mauroy made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Gauthier Abadie sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Mouen booed when Epagny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Lagrave didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 36 minutes, Thibaut Savreux mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Epagny and the Mouen players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Epagny getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Thibaut Savreux hit a great ball. In the 41st minute Bruno Meissonnier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean Naudy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mouen booed when Epagny was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabin Lejosne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Honoré Degrémont to make the kick off.
